My Sweet students

Teaching Grade 4/5 this year has been really busy. Not only am I learning a whole new curriculum, I'm also learning how to teach and interact with this age group. Some days they drive me crazy with all their arguing with each other and all the drama issues that I have to help them solve. Other times they make me laugh with just being who they are.

One day I find this:
Each month the students vote for the classmate who
shows the character trait of the month. This month is
Perseverance. I took a peak at the votes and found this.
So encouraged to keep going!

I have a wonderful, but crazy group of students!

Kids Speak: Michael Jackson

Yesterday was Celebrity day where the students were supposed to dress up as a celebrity. A student comes in the class that morning and here is the conversation:

Student: Ms. Mok, I need a plastic bag.
Me: Why do you need a plastic bag?
Student: I want to be Michael Jackson.
Me: What does Michael Jackson have to do with a plastic bag?
Student: Because Michael Jackson had plastic surgery.

Kids Speak: Why they like you...

Student: I like you soooo much Ms. Mok! Because you brought in a caterpillar.
Me: So you wouldn't like me as much if I didn't bring in a caterpillar?
Student: No, I won't like you as much.

Another school year, another set of kids who make me laugh.

oh oh oh.. and a new set of earrings :)

Kids Speak: Soooooo innocent!

Happy Valentine's Day! Did you know that as a teacher you can get valentine's presents? Well, today I got a few presents and among them were flowers, keychains and of course CHOCOLATE! Here is the conversation I had while I was opening a box of Godiva chocolates:

Me: Ooooh! It's chocolate! Thank you!
Student: You're welcome. It was supposed to be a present for me but I didn't like it.
